Too late for the Nook. I've gone the way of the Kindle already. Loving it as I read DFW's magnum Infinte Jest on it. Yeah, color would be nice, but I go several weeks on one charge on the Kindle (note: that's *not* reading every day) and the text is very easy on the eyes. However, I will say that we've been collecting and reading Aimee Bender since you first introduced us (my god has it been that long ago already) and we frequently appreciate that introduction. I picked this up (hardback) not too long ago, and it's on the top of my stack.
What's the battery life like on the nook color? They must be using a regular back-lit LCD screen instead of e-paper technology, right?
ReplyDeleteIt is an LCD, yep. Battery life is eight hours, plenty in my opinion.

ReplyDeleteThe original e-ink Nook has been the first e-book reader I've used, so I'm a bit biased - very cool way to read, I have to admit I prefer e-books now.
ReplyDeleteI've not actually had my hands on a Nook Color yet but Michelle has played with one and is all about it.
Aimee Bender! Woo! Yes, she rocks, and that was five years ago already?
