While watching MythBusters this weekend:
Her: "What the - They didn't have rockets back in the Civil War!"
Him: "Of course they did. Rockets have been around for hundreds of years. The Chinese used them in battle all the time."
Her: "What? No."
Him: "Yeah, didn't you see Mulan?"

Oh Lord, you're gonna make your grandma eat cat food?
ReplyDeleteSo how/where did you type your words into the book challenge?
The cat food incident is purely fictional! Besides, my Grandma would kick my butt to the curb long before such a thing was necessary.

Well, Mulan or the episode of Mythbusters where they try to launch Buster into space using Ming Dynasty style rockets.
ReplyDeleteA question: Mythbusters, greatest show ever or just close?
It's funny cause it's real.
ReplyDeleteMythbusters is cool, but their scientific method is pretty weak sometimes. They sometimes "bust" myths that other people have shown are feasible (like Archimedes Death Ray).
Yep, the one thing I thought about the death ray is that 20 mythbuster employees with mirrors would be difficult to organise to all point their mirror at the same spot.
ReplyDeleteA few thousand people wouldn't require nearly as much accuracy.
The British version (braniac, shown on G4), is a hundred times worse. They're about as unscientific as you can get.
Oh, and etcher, I thought about entering NaNoWriMo, but I realised I already have a novella of about that length on my PC, and I'd end up cheating.
By the way, settle an argument for me. Sunny says your screen name is MC Etcher as in McEtcher, and I say it's MC etcher, like Em See Etcher.
Who's right?
Sorry Sunny - it's pronounced as "Em See Etcher".
ReplyDeleteBut we have some lovely parting gifts for you!
My word verification reads:
ReplyDeletelazbory
seriously. _Mulan_ is way too over-rated--rockets or no. Does time travel count?
OMG! You mean I was Wro......wro........wro...... mistaken?
ReplyDeleteHmmmmmmmm, Curious. That's NEVER happened before!!!
When can I expect my lovely parting gifts? If it's that stupid looking donkey in a sombrero behind door number three- don't bother. Altho I'm sure he's a lovely donkey.
you see, I'm......allergic. Yeah- that's it- allergic.
;-)
